As an electrical engineering engineer, there are plenty of choices. The bachelor's program provides broad knowledge and skills and allows one to work on the development of state-of-the-art electronics and smart devices. In this way, the engineer or designer helps to make life a little more beautiful and easier. This can be in various roles, at all sorts of great organizations. For example:

Smartphones, robots, self-driving cars; electrical engineering is everywhere. During the bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering of the Engineering study, students are taught how to design, - test, and - realize electronic devices and systems, for example, an autonomously operating robot, a sensor system to make homes smarter, or a new 'pain meter' for doctors at the hospital.Sometimes collaboration takes place with a group including Radboud University in Nijmegen. As an example, this is about helping doctors better diagnose a myocardial infarction (heart attack) in women. This is difficult because the symptoms in women are often different and less well-known. We are developing a device that helps doctors make the correct diagnosis using an ECG (electrocardiogram) and a pulse oximeter (blood oxygen meter). But also in sectors such as aerospace, aviation, marine, automation, and many other professional disciplines, the bachelor of science or engineer is indispensable. (source: HvA)

As an electrical engineering technician:

 

The developments in technology are going fast. Consider, for example, robotization and automation, solar energy or new ways of sustainable production. The support of an engineering technician who leads, plans, prepares and directs work processes, supervises projects, monitors the processes and makes drawings, reads or designs or develops installations or builds, maintains and overhauls machines is indispensable.

Responsible for the finances of a project and maintenance with contacts and clients, customers and other companies.

• working in different positions: as project leader, supervisor, foreman or technician:

• as project manager engaged in the preparation and supervision of the execution of electro technical work; contacts with customers and with designing, drawing, calculating and guiding;

• as supervisor leading and co-implementing the technology and maintenance department;

• as executor, arranging the implementation of projects and monitoring the budget;

• as a technician, be a specialist who solves technical problems in practice or makes an important contribution to them.

 

Activities

 

At production, installation and service companies. Engineering technicians work on electro technical machines, equipment and installations, consumer electronics, office machines and electro technical consumer goods, at small companies but also at large companies.
